Every summer, we promise ourselves that we will take that magical vacation, the one we have been dreaming about for years, and every summer we find ourselves wondering where the time went as the kids start back to school and the best we managed to do was enjoy a couple of weekend getaways. But this year, we at Siesta Key are making a pact to do things differently, and we invite you to join us in this pact, perhaps by starting to plan a back-to-school vacation to Siesta Key. You have dreamed about a beachy escape for years and our white sand beaches will bring the peace you need to quiet the chaos of your life, offering one final fling with summer before stepping back into real life where school events, work meetings, and endless honey-do lists exist.

A Taste of Siesta Key

Our Rent Siesta Key sanctuaries do offer fully equipped kitchens that may be used to save some money by cooking at home, but no one expects you to eat every meal at home, especially as the restaurants of Siesta Key provide delicious meals that are sustainable and locally sourced! Breakfasts at Sun Garden Café, lunches at the Cottage, and dinners at Siesta Key Summer House Steak and Seafood are just a few spots we think represent an authentic taste of our hometown and should definitely be explored.

Beach Days and Nights

The beaches of Siesta Key are always the prime enticement for travelers from all over the world and you know that they will be the first place you explore after unpacking your bags. Spending long days relaxing on colorful beach towels while the waves crash against the shores, the sun shines down on shoulders that will be nicely tanned by the time you return to real life, and your soul does a happy dance for this vacation dream come true. Maybe you will walk along water’s edge as the sun sets, totally in awe of the fire in the sky or maybe your walks will take place after the moon has risen, realizing that the peace of the sea is contagious, burrowing its way into your heart, brain, and soul.

Shopping at Siesta Key Village

Every vacationer loves doing a little shopping during their travels and Siesta Key Village offers a variety of shops and boutiques for guests to explore. Located along Ocean Boulevard, guests can drive and park for free or can take the free trolley and stop in one of the restaurants for a glass of wine. Shops such as Siesta Key Outfitters (souvenirs) CaliFlorida Surf and Skate Shop (self-explanatory) and Foxy Lady Siesta Key (women’s clothing) offer something for everyone ensuring that your shopping needs will be wonderfully fulfilled.

Siesta Key Drum Circle

The Siesta Key Drum Circle is something we share a lot with our friends and guests, offering a celebration of music, community, and the beauty of the Florida sunset every Sunday evening. Everyone is invited and this wonderful ceremony promises to take center stage in your memories of this back to school vacation and will be something that your children will remember forever. Held at Siesta Beach between Lifeguard Stations 3 and 4, the drum circle begins about an hour before sunset (approximately 8:30 PM during the month of July) and costs absolutely nothing. Entertainment can include sword acts, fire dancers, and belly dancers in addition to the drums that beat with perfect rhythm in celebration of all the things that make life sweeter.
