Also offering arts and craft vendors, local sauces, and so much more, your Sunday morning adventures will be idyllic and relaxing with a visit to the Farmers Market.
Ringling Underground, October 3, The Courtyard at the John & Mabel Ringling Museum of Art
Sometimes you just want to listen to good music, and on this early fall night in Sarasota, Ringling Underground may be where you want to be. Offering an evening filled with live music performed by up and coming musicians that you may soon hear gracing the radio waves, tickets cost $15, but students are free. Ringling Underground is a monthly event, so if you miss the October 3 act, this special event takes place again on November 7.
Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Weekends in October, 5500 CR 675 in Bradenton
The joy of a pumpkin festival is can never be overrated, and the Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival is one of the best in the region. Offering hayrides and pony rides, corn mazes and scarecrow displays, delicious food, refreshing beverages, pumpkins, and pumpkin games, pretty much every fall activity you can think of can be enjoyed at this fun festival. The food choices include farm roasted sweet corn, pumpkin pie, homemade ice cream, and a huge selection of other fall favorites, and because hay and pony rides simply aren’t enough excitement for one festival, there will also be big and little train rides. Live music, arm painting, and a beautiful butterfly experience helps make this event one you won’t soon forget.
American Vintage Markets Present Falling for Vintage, October 11 & 12, Sarasota Fairgrounds
We can’t help it. We love a good bargain and in a world of excess, recycling and reusing is important, making Falling for Vintage one of our favorite fall events. Everything for sell is recycled, reused, and reinvented, with vendors selling everything from jewelry to clothing to home décor and as you explore all the aisles of this annual event don’t be surprised if your arms are soon full of merch you can’t pass up on; hopefully you packed light knowing that your Rent Siesta Key seasonal sanctuaries has a fully equipped laundry room where you can wash the clothing you did bring. Tickets cost $8 and children 16 & under are free.
Sarasota International Chalk Festival, November 8-10, Downtown Burns Square, Sarasota
We appreciate the arts in Sarasota, and this unique festival celebrates an unusual medium, that of chalk. Chalk artists from all over the world come to Burns Square in downtown Sarasota creating the most spectacular masterpieces from colorful pieces of chalk while also offering live entertainment (fire walkers have been known to make an appearance) food truck delicacies, and all the color your world has been missing all your life. There is an interactive area where budding artists in your family can participate in making chalk art, a puppet parade, and a 3D Pavement Art Exhibition that will stun, ticket prices start at $5 for children.
